Profile

The French and German sections of Taipei European School are looking for a Part-time English Teacher in August 2024, with a workload of 20 periods out of 30 per week. The successful candidate will teach in the secondary middle school program and high school for the elective course "English languages" in the high-school BFI, German, and French programme.  

The candidate will carry out their mission within the framework of the programmes defined by the French National Education system and the school by carefully evaluating the students. The candidate must be as demanding towards themselves towards their students. We value any candidate familiar with project-based pedagogy (disciplinary or transdisciplinary) who places differentiation at the heart of their practices and for whom teamwork is an essential factor in students' professional development and success. They will establish positive professional relationships and work with parents in the context of co-education. The candidate must be available to provide the best possible support to the students and contribute to the smooth running of the school. In addition, working from an international school, any experience with other national or international programmes will be considered. Part of the assignment will aim to enhance the complementary between German, French, and English language subjects, so knowledge of German and French language, culture, or curricula is desirable.

Qualifications:

  • TES recruits well-qualified, experienced career professionals. 
  • The candidates need to have:
  • 1. A Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognised University.
  • 2. A Degree from a recognised University plus either a
  • ) Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) or equivalent
  • b) Post Graduate Diploma of Education (PGDE) or equivalent
  • Qualifications such as TESOL, DELTA, TESOL, DELF or other Language Teaching are a plus. 

Relevant experience

  • Experience working in international schools (integrated curriculum - French, British, German, American, Canadian) would be a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with multicultural settings.
