School Nurse (Starting in August 2026)

Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced School Nurse to join our dynamic learning community starting in August 2026. The School nurse will deliver both universal and targeted services and work across education and health, providing a link between school, home and the community and play an essential role in keeping children healthy, safe, and ready to learn. 

Working relationships and contacts: 

  • The School Nurse reports to the School Nurse Supervisor and has a productive and cooperative relationship with staff, parents, students, teachers and external suppliers and vendors.
  • Provides the line manager with regular updates and reports on the status of students and consults him/her regarding more complex cases and problems arising.
  • Direct personal contact is primarily with students to deal with accidents, illnesses and other health-related matters.
  • Frequently communicates with parents regarding such issues, as well as section staff and the line manager. Generally attempts to resolve problems arising from parents complaints independently, but refers them to the relevant section head or line manager when necessary and appropriate. 
  • Maintains contact with government health departments, generally at the local level and usually by email to report cases of sickness and keep up to date with regulations. Communicates with local emergency care facilities. 
  • Occasionally participates in PSHE classes to support a teacher in explanations or demonstrations (e.g. how to perform CPR). 

Responsibilities

  • Implements and promotes nursing care according to established priority of needs and according to standards of nursing practice.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the campus and the nursing services. 
  • Maintain accurate, up to date health management records of students and put in practice and ensure all medical information concerning students is maintained in the strictest confidence.
  • Conduct health management programmes, including arrange health exams, screening ,vaccinations, providing hospital or doctor referrals, illness follow up and consultation  services as appropriate.
  • Develops procedures and provides for crisis intervention for acute illness, injury and
  • emotional disturbances and the prevention and control of infectious diseases, including disease notification, vaccination, and registration tracking. 
  • Respond to emergency situations quickly and appropriately and provide emergency rescue, care, contact and monitoring of accident injuries.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure that the provision of health care is collaborative and coordinated.
  • Coordinating health services with private and public health providers, parents, agencies to promote a healthy environment for students. 
  • Liaising with health care institutions, parents and locals to promote health promotion. 
  • Keeping up to date with the school’s emergency drill procedures and responding appropriately in an emergency or emergency drill.
  • Assessing the school environment to prevent injury and ensure safety.
  • Providing health-related education to students in both individual and group settings.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor or master degree in Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Taiwan
  • Valid EMT-1 Certification
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a R.N in hospital or school

  • Fluency in both oral and written English and Chinese is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite and Google Work Suite
  • A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work
