Project Manager (Finance Department)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

To lead and manage the development and implementation of the selected comprehensive financial and administration systems for the school. This role involves overseeing project timelines, ensuring financial compliance, and establishing effective control and budgeting processes. Additionally, it focuses on aligning system functionalities with the school’s operational objectives while delivering an efficient, user-friendly platform for both parents and staff.

LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership in planning, executing, and finalising system development projects.
  • Coordinate and guide project-specific cross-functional teams, including financial experts, IT professionals, and administrative staff, to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Set clear project goals, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain accountability for project results.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the development team and key stakeholders, including senior school management.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:

  • Collaborate with school leadership, finance team, administrative departments, and IT team to define system requirements.
  • Maintain close communication with external vendors, software developers, and consultants.
  • Serve as a key contact point for troubleshooting, updates, and feedback during and after system implementation.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of the financial and administration systems.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in current systems and recommend solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring financial discipline and resource optimization.
  • Ensure all systems comply with applicable financial regulations and control/compliance standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs for end users.
  • Monitor the project’s progress and report regularly to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements for system performance post-implementation.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; a relevant Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in supervisory roles.
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects, particularly in financial or administrative system development.
  • Experience working in a multinational team or multicultural environment is highly relevant and preferred.

  • Exceptional project management skills, including planning, organisation, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial tools.
