BPS_Supply Cover Learning Assistant
Overview
The British Primary Section is seeking dedicated and passionate Supply Learning Assistants to join our vibrant and diverse school community. Your role will involve to assist the Class Teacher in the smooth running of the classroom and support learning. You will be assigned to cover staff absences and work with various student groups, requiring flexibility and adaptability. With a flexible approach, you will have the ability to adapt to working with a range of pupils, will have a caring and positive attitude and will be committed to getting the best outcomes for our pupils.
Working Relationships and Contacts
- Has regular contact with parents, TES staff and TES students which involves discussions related to providing or obtaining explanations or additional information
- Handles sensitive, complex and/or confidential information
- Positively promotes the mission, vision and core values of the school
- Acts as a positive role model for the school within the wider community
- Promotes the general well being of individual students and of any class group assigned.

Responsibilities
- Classroom practice that includes supporting all areas of learning in the whole class, small group, and individual settings.
- Assists in the early morning preparation of the classroom and activities as required by the teacher.
- Where necessary check Home-Link diaries every morning and relay relevant messages to the teacher.
- 4nforms relevant school personnel of any concerns regarding the students. Do not enter into dialogue with parents regarding a student's academic progress or behaviour in school.
- Maintains supervision, good order and discipline among the students and safeguard their health and safety in accordance with the school’s regulations and policy statements.
- Maintains a well presented, stimulating and organised classroom environment for student learning.
- Assist where necessary in the smooth transition of children around the campus.
- Effective communication with partner teachers and year group
- Contributes to the planning, evaluation and assessment within the classroom.
- Contributes to the supervision of the children in the playground in accordance with the duty rota and playground expectations.
- Assists in the tidying up of the classroom during and after the school day.
- Expectation to attend regular professional development which may occur after school hours.
- Performs any other duties, deemed reasonable and as required by their Line Manager and/or Head of Section.
Qualifications
- Degree in Education, Childhood Education, Special Education or relevant field from a recognized University, or a qualification/certification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or relevant field.
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a school or similar setting.
- Experience of working in a mainstream international school with a Western pedagogical background would be a significant advantage.
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and willingness to take additional certifications.
- Familiarity with multicultural settings is a plus.
