Security Officer
We are looking for a confident and vigilant Security Officer, with excellent communication skills to ensure pupils, staff and visitors are safeguarded within a comprehensive security service.
As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment across the TES campus. You will help implement and maintain effective security procedures, proactively identify and reduce potential risks, and respond appropriately to incidents when they arise.
Working closely with colleagues across the school, you will help safeguard our students, staff, visitors and school property, while supporting the smooth and secure day-to-day operation of our campuses.
Major Specific Duties
- Assist with the establishment of standard operating procedures for security processes, including but not limited to access contract of people and vehicle, patrolling and spot checks, key management, emergency procedures, general public safety on campus.
- Promote standard operations procedures for security processes among the TES Community.
- Induct and educate the outsourced security personnel as to the TES specific security related polices, procedures, process, including emergency procedures and drills, as well as the operation of security related equipment.
- Induct and educate the outsourced traffic wards as to the established traffic control processes.
- Serve as supervisor of the outsourced security team and make sure the team members implement and maintain approved security processes.
- In case of temporary security manpower shortage, support security work as guard may be required.
- Prepare written reports on all significant security incidents.
- Be a member of the Incident Management Team (IMT) and take responsibility for the tasks assigned during drills and actual incidents. Assist and assign security personnel throughout emergency drills and actual incidents.
- Act as the liaison officer with local police and/or emergency agencies.
- Monitor the performance of and maintain smooth operations of security team equipment, including but not limited to electronic access control, CCTV video, 2-way radio, emergency line, fire alarm, PA system, emergency buttons, etc. and report failures to the Facilities Manager.
- Render monthly expenditure requests for security services related expenses and monitor the assigned budget.
- Any other related tasks as many reasonably be assigned by the Facilities Manager.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
To be successful in this role, the incumbent should have:
- Previous security experience
- Excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues, staff, visitors and pupils
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good level of literacy (including IT), numeracy and telephone skills
- Ability to maintain high professional standards
- Remain professional and calm whilst under pressure
- Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Holder of First Aid at Work certificate or be prepared to train for this qualification
