Position Summary
The Facilities Project Specialist is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of campus construction, renovation, and facility-related projects. This role serves as the school’s technical representative, providing professional advice, ensuring proper project planning, and safeguarding the school’s interests throughout project execution.
The position requires strong hands-on engineering or construction experience, sound professional judgment, and the ability to propose practical and cost-effective solutions aligned with the school’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning, Advisory & Coordination
- Assess campus facility needs and provide professional recommendations with multiple solution options for management decision-making
- Translate user requirements into clear project scopes and technical specifications
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand operational needs and provide practical solutions
- Advise on feasibility, cost implications, risks, and project priorities
2. Procurement Support & Vendor Evaluation
- Prepare technical specifications, scope of work, and supporting documents for procurement processes
- Recommend suitable contractors/vendors and support the procurement team in evaluation and selection
- Provide technical input on quotations, cost comparisons, and negotiation strategies
- Assist in vendor performance review and maintain a reliable contractor reference list
3. Project Execution, Supervision & Quality Control
- Oversee project execution, including on-site supervision, progress tracking, and quality assurance
- Ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, timelines, and contractual requirements
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical or site-related issues
- Monitor risks, cost variations, and change management to safeguard the school’s interests
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and project handover processes
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, or related fields
- Background in construction companies preferred; engineering firms also considered
- Strong hands-on site experience and technical expertise
- Proven experience in project coordination, tender support, and contractor evaluation
- Familiarity with local construction practices, regulations, and safety standards
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Additional Notes
